Once the festival of lights, Diwali is over, it marks the onset of a chill and a lack of humidity in the air. Here comes winter ! The time of warm clothes, heaters and fireplaces, cuddling closer top pillows and completely enveloping in the comfy blankets and quilts. Everything looks bright and fresh (not exactly as in Springs) but yes, winter season has its own mesmerizing effect. But, it also brings about trouble for your skin, as there is dryness in the air. A little extra care is needed to keep your skin young and alive.
Nutritious Intake: A proper nutritious intake is necessary to keep the healthy glow of skin. Include lots of fruits and vegetables in your daily diet and drink lots of water to hydrate your skin. Consumption of olive oil and primrose syrup also help in skin softening the skin. Herbal tea is also good for the skin when it is cold.
Humidifier: A humidifying system will be a good alternative to bring back your skin’s lost moisture. It will help your skin to be lithesome and prevent it from being cracked and dry.
Exfoliate: For a soft and lithesome skin, use the paste of ground green gram powder instead of soap. Get your skin rid off all the dead cells and make it feel fresh. Use a good scrub once a week.
Oil based moisturisers:The most essential ingredients to a healthy skin are moisturisers and cold creams. Choose something with atleast 80% oil in it as creams and lotions tend to dry out the skin. Apply a little coconut oil before bath.
Don’t Lick(your lips): Always keep a lip balm with you. The more you lick your lips, the more cracked you’re gonna make it. So, avoid that !
Oil Bath: Before taking a bath, add a little jojoba oil or almond oil to water. this will help retain the moisture lost, while bathing. Don’t use very hot water for bathing as it will take away the moisture. A good idea is to reduce your bathing time.
